FAQ

1. What clothes do I wear? – We do not wear a uniform, but advise you bring comfortable loose trousers, warm clothes and soft soled type shoes.
2. Do I need any equipment? – Yes, please bring a mat/blanket and cushion for the floor work.
3. Does it matter what age I am? – Adults of all ages can attend l’art du chi classes.
4. Is there any contact involved? – l'art du chi method focuses on working with Chi. It does not teach martial applications.
5. How much does it cost? – Cost depends on number of classes attended per week and payment method. Please consult our booking section for details.
6. Do I need to be fit? – The practice of l'art du chi allows individuals to improve their fitness level at their own pace.
7. When can I join a class? – New students can join at the beginning of each term. It is recommended that new students first attend one of our trial sessions.
8. Should I practice everyday? – The clear step by step instruction given in classes allows students to develop a personal practice over time.
9. How long are the classes? – Most of our classes last two hours though it is possible to come to shorter sessions as a complete beginner.
10. Do you have complete beginners classes and workshops? – We run introductory sessions to l’art du chi all year round for complete beginners. Our trial sessions are also a good way to get started.
11. What should I do if I had a very stressful day, or if I am ill? – Students should not come to class if they are feeling unwell.
12. Can I pay per class? – 'l'art du chi' only accepts term bookings. Payment must be paid before start of term.
13. I want to get involved but cannot come to regular classes, what can I do? – We offer one to one sessions and workshops as an effective alternative to weekly classes.
14. Is it ok to eat before class? – A light snack and (non alcoholic) beverage before class is recommended.
